Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

TorontoClimbs ("we", "our", "us") operates the website torontoclimbs.ca. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data we collect

None. TorontoClimbs is a static gym directory with no accounts, no sign-in, and no database. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information, and there is nothing for you to log in to.

The "Closest to Me" sort asks your browser for your location. That request requires your explicit permission, the coordinates are used only to sort the gym list on your own device, and they are never sent to us or stored anywhere.

Accounts, reviews and notes (removed)

Earlier versions of this site let you create an account to mark gyms as visited, leave reviews, and keep private notes. Those features have been retired, and the database that stored them has been permanently deleted along with every account, review, note, and visit record it held. Session tracking now lives in our native app, ClimbNorth.

Third-party services

The site is hosted on Vercel, map tiles are served by CARTO and OpenStreetMap, and fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. These providers may log standard technical information such as your IP address in order to serve the page, as any web host does. We do not run ads, analytics, or tracking cookies.

Cookies and local storage

We set no cookies. We use two browser local storage entries, both of which stay on your device: one saves your theme preference (light or dark mode), and one remembers that you have already dismissed the notice about our new app. Clearing your browser storage removes both.

Your rights

Because we no longer hold any personal data, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have questions about data that was held before the accounts system was removed, email us using the address below.
